One of our reading groups today read a story called ‘When the Lights Go Out’. We talked about all the different things we do when the lights go out. One of the games that the children in the story did was play hand shadow puppets. This reminded me (Miss Salter) of a cool clip that I had seen. This does take a little while to load but it is worth it. I would love to see what hand shadow puppets you can do. I think my favorite is the bunny rabbit. What is your favourite?

This is my Fifty Two Things to do in the Car. This game was given to me last Christmas by my Aunty Emma. We play this game though some windy roads so I don’t spew. My favorite game is this one where everyone says a word to make a story.
Goldfish are a small member of the carp family. Goldfish were domesticated over one thousand years ago in China. Here are some photos of goldfish. Goldfish need clean water and to be fed regularly. The world’s oldest goldfish was called Tish and was 43 years old according to Guinness Book of Records.
There are some forty different species in the kangaroo family. The smaller ones are usually called wallabies. The largest is the red kangaroo. The macropus rufus which is as tall as a man is the largest living marsupial.
I would like to talk about my graduation from fairy school. The people who went with me to fairy school were my Mum of course, my sister Rita and my cousins Lena and Sereen. We played party games like limbo, fairy bingo, fairy memory game, musical statues, musical chairs and we also made fairy masks. Here is my mask that I made all by myself. While we played games my Mum took photos of me. Here are some sequenced pictures of me at fairy school. I hope you like them. I also got this certificate that I got from fairy school. I got the certificates for graduating from Sugar Plum Fairy School.
We have been out on the boat a couple of times and I have taken some friends along. Dad bought a couple of new big yellow biscuits which can hold up to 3 people. It’s great fun being pulled along behind the boat.

Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The NZSPCA was formed by settlers from England in 1882. The first society was formed in Dunedin and then opened in Auckalnd and Wellington in 1883 and 1884. From then on smaller communities began their own branches. In 1933 the separate societies joined together to form the National NZSPCA. There are now 54 individual branches across New Zealand. In 2008 the SPCA celebrated 125 years of continued service. The SPCA relies on public donations.
Their mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals and to prevent cruelty to animals. They do this by rescuing animals in distress, caring for homeless animals, reuniting lost animals with their owners, rehoming orphaned and unwanted animals.
The SPCA has wonderful cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and birds in need of loving homes.
Adopting an animal is something you should carefully consider. It is a decision that may affect the next 20 years of your life.
We have adopted 2 kittens from the SPCA. Sonny and Pippy who I brought to School on Pet Day.
